Before the spring of 2018, travel was never even on my radar.
Sure, I would go on the occasional beach trip like any other teenager, but the thought of wanting to go and see anywhere just to go wasn't a thing for me.
Yet something unexpected happened.
After years of trying, my friend got me into this band, and that set me on this long journey I have started on.
The crazy thing is that the band announced a tour a few weeks after I became a fan, and my friend who had been waiting for the opportunity to see them for years convinced me to go all the way to Texas to see them in concert.
Which, let's be honest, it didn't take very much convincing because I wanted to see them as well.
My whole family thought it would be crazy that I was about to fly halfway across the country for a concert, honestly, I thought it was crazy too.
But nonetheless, when that weekend in September rolled around, I went, and thus began the tradition of traveling for concerts for me.
Since then, I have been to concerts in Fort Worth, New York City, Nashville, and Chicago, and both of those trips hold some of the most amazing memories for me.
Growing up, Chicago was always one of those places growing up I never thought I would go to in my life.
With all the news stories constantly playing on TV, it seemed like such a scary place.
Yet, I ended up going to see that band there and had one of the most life-changing weekends and I will never forget it.
That weekend was the most carefree I had felt, in so long, and if I could go back and relive it just once, I would.
It made me realize that even though some places, and some things, seem so scary, yet, I had such an amazing time.
That. Is the reason I fell in love with traveling, and I have so many goals and hopes of where I want to go in the next few years and am planning to share my experiences on this blog.
I know that right now the world has become a very different place than it once was, but this experience has also made me realize that I don't always have to go to an exotic location or far away city.
The state I live in has so much to offer, and so much that somehow I still haven't seen. So even though I can’t travel very far right now, I want to find ways to still see more of the world in ways that I never really thought about before.
Hence the name OnTheWayToTheWorld!
Through the next few months, I want to share some of my stories, as well as tips and tricks I have learned through my years along the way.
My goal is to create a platform that one day I can look back on proudly and reminisce on the things I have done and accomplished, and I hope that you would like to join me on this journey!
